Who we are
WonderAtlas (getwonderatlas.com) is an independent travel-discovery website operated by Sait Naç, Türkiye (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the limited personal data described below. Contact: [email protected]. We aim to reply within 3 business days.
What we collect
- No accounts, no forms, no newsletter. We do not ask for your name, email address or other personal details. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
- Saved places are stored only in your own browser (localStorage key
wa:saved). They are never sent to us; clearing your browser data removes them. - Website analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, country, device type). Cloudflare describes it as privacy-first: it does not use cookies or local storage for analytics and does not fingerprint visitors. See https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/
- Hosting and security: the site is served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the site. See https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- Maps: when you open an interactive map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which receives your IP address as part of that request. Maps load only when you click to open them.
Advertising
We use, or intend to use, Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its third-party partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. Learn more: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown Google’s certified consent message before any advertising cookies are used, and can accept, decline or manage their choices. You can change your choice at any time via the privacy/consent link the message provides.
Opting out of personalised ads: visit Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com) or, for many third-party vendors, https://www.aboutads.info/choices/. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and understanding the use of the site for hosting, security and cookieless analytics.
Your rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise a right, email [email protected].
Your rights under the CCPA / CPRA (California)
If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information is collected, used and disclosed; to request deletion and correction; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners may be considered “sharing” under the CPRA; you can opt out using Google Ads Settings, https://www.aboutads.info/choices/, or a browser Global Privacy Control signal. Requests: [email protected].
Turkish law (KVKK)
Where Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data applies, you may exercise the rights in its Article 11 by writing to [email protected].
Retention
We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request. Analytics are aggregate. Third-party providers retain data under their own policies.
Children
WonderAtlas is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK).
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory data-protection rights you have where you live.
